A new project using the STRA 3.0 in-grade uplights by Luce & Light has been realized by WATT Lighting (www.wattlighting.net) at the ELCO Yards complex in Redwood City, CA.

STRA is a family of outdoor recessed uplights that provide high power architectural lighting for various settings with optics that are adjustable (manually or with a motor) or fixed. STRA 3.0 was the perfect high power performance to light up the blue sculpture by Nathan Mabry.

Formerly a light-industrial zone of warehouses, auto dealerships, repair shops and a wrecking yard, ELCO Yards creates a new urban center of 6 buildings (2 multi-family, 1 office, 3 life science) and 40,000 square feet of public open space within ½ mile of the Redwood City commuter rail station (Caltrain).

The project included redevelopment of municipal streets and park spaces for an engaging, active neighborhood with rooftop terraces that enhance connections between buildings and street life below.
