	A monumental abstract sculpture, Cedrus, by renowned German-American artist Ursula von Rydingsvard was installed in the Amphitheater Foyer on C Level of the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington D.C. The lighting of the sculpture was planned by Andrea Hartranft Lighting Design using Litus 5.6 in-grade uplights by Luce & Light of Italy, supplied through Designplan Lighting, Inc.
The artist Ursula von Rydingsvard is known for her striking, large-scale works crafted from cedar and bronze. She has built an international reputation for her deeply personal and expressive sculptures. Born in 1942 in Deensen, Germany, she pursued her artistic studies at institutions including Columbia University and the University of California, Berkeley.
This installation is part of the U.S. General Services Administration’s (GSA) commitment to integrating art into federal buildings for their Art in Architecture Program, with one-half of one percent of construction costs allocated for commissioned works. This piece has joined RRB/ITC’s distinguished collection of contemporary art, further enhancing the space as a hub of culture and creativity.
